Halloween Taffys

I do this every year. Buy all the Halloween candy too early, so it can tempt me. Sometimes I buy stuff I don't like that much, thinking I'll leave it alone. But that never works, I get into that too.

But at least I can draw some of it. And you know how I like taffys. I was surprised to realize I'd never drawn these classic Orange and Black ones. So now I have.

The Black ones are Licorice flavor.

I did these small - about 2" x 2.5" on a 2.5" x 3" piece of paper.

And then I framed them.

The orange ones are Peanut Butter flavor.

I did these with Polychromo and Lyra pencils.

Same kind of frame. It has a neat silver and white gold leaf kind of finish, which looks good with both pieces of art.

Both of these are in the etsy shop

Tomorrow night is the last of the Presidential debates, and I'm looking forward to it. This is a crazy season, leading up to the election, and I'll be kind of glad when its all over. I can't imagine how the candidates themselves feel. Facebook and Twitter will calm down some too, hopefully. Lordy, how people get themselves all worked up, and post and rant and all. I'm all for free speech of course, I'm just saying.

Halloween is almost upon us, then its 'THE HOLIDAYS'. duhn duhn DUUHHNN ... am I right? That's how it feels. Maybe that's why we eat candy - it makes us feel like kids again, when things were simpler. I don't know. I'm trying to bring this back around somehow to why I draw candy. Not sure that worked, but I'll leave it there for now.
