I ate sooooo much of this stuff when I was a kid. I think you could buy a box for 35 cents. The prize was the best part! I remember a ring, and other odd little things you'd make out of snapped together bits of plastic. And I think little wee tiny books.
Did you eat these too? What prizes do you remember?

Fabulous drawing that brings back childhood memories. Oh yes, Crackerjack was a staple of most kids for years.
I'm trying to think of the prizes. Similar to what you said, plastic rings and snap together toys. I do remember a submarine that was propelled by a rubber band twisted. I'd play with that for hours sending it round the bath tub.
Love this drawing! Okay, you and Jeanette have obviously not lost your ability to recall things, ahem...not like some of us! Well, now that Jeanette mentions it, I too remember the submarine. :-)
You made them look so real that I would love to have some right now. I do remember eating Crackerjacks and being very excited with the "little presents" but alsa none left a lasting impression.
All I can say is yummy! And it makes me smile and think of my childhood days!
