More art for sale

Had to get the dust rag out for my poor blog here. Figured I'd better post something, anything, just to keep things going. Its amazing how much time goes by before you realize "hey! I haven't blogged in forever."

I decided to list a few more (OK, quite a few more) pieces on etsy. Prints, and originals too.

There's some picture book art ~

Mad Cats

Cozy Quilt

Bedtime Story

and some dark ones too, just for fun ~

Dark Nutcracker

And also some food, of course ~

Not From Around Here

and especially chocolate ~

Heath Bar

Chocolate Buttercream

there can never be too much chocolate ~

Hazelnut Truffle

Tootsie Roll

Slo Poke

I've done more than these, and there are more queued up to be listed over the next few days. Christmas is coming, and I figure people might want to give some nice art for presents. Hope so, anyway. I'm sure I could squeeze in a commission or two before then, so if you're thinking of giving an original piece of art, please give me a holler!
I also have some drawings of yarn and knitting, which I'm thinking of putting in the knitting shop, just to jazz it up over there a bit. {{ In my free time. }}

As I write this, that horrible Frankenstorm is threatening the East Coast. I shudder just thinking about it. Praying everyone will be safe and sound, and all the critters too. Its been lovely here, with just the right amount of sun, and just cool enough at night for cozy jammies and blanket. And a cat or two.

Halloween Taffys

I do this every year. Buy all the Halloween candy too early, so it can tempt me. Sometimes I buy stuff I don't like that much, thinking I'll leave it alone. But that never works, I get into that too.

But at least I can draw some of it. And you know how I like taffys. I was surprised to realize I'd never drawn these classic Orange and Black ones. So now I have.

The Black ones are Licorice flavor.

I did these small - about 2" x 2.5" on a 2.5" x 3" piece of paper.

And then I framed them.

The orange ones are Peanut Butter flavor.

I did these with Polychromo and Lyra pencils.

Same kind of frame. It has a neat silver and white gold leaf kind of finish, which looks good with both pieces of art.

Both of these are in the etsy shop

Tomorrow night is the last of the Presidential debates, and I'm looking forward to it. This is a crazy season, leading up to the election, and I'll be kind of glad when its all over. I can't imagine how the candidates themselves feel. Facebook and Twitter will calm down some too, hopefully. Lordy, how people get themselves all worked up, and post and rant and all. I'm all for free speech of course, I'm just saying.

Halloween is almost upon us, then its 'THE HOLIDAYS'. duhn duhn DUUHHNN ... am I right? That's how it feels. Maybe that's why we eat candy - it makes us feel like kids again, when things were simpler. I don't know. I'm trying to bring this back around somehow to why I draw candy. Not sure that worked, but I'll leave it there for now.

Candy Corn

You know I had to draw some candy corn. I mean, you go into the store, and its right there, on every shelf, just begging you to buy it and make yourself sick eating too much of it (which I have done already).

I decided to do these small (2 x 3 inches). Polychromos on Stonehenge.

I bought some little frames.

And I think I'll put them on etsy and see what happens.

I'm dithering about the price. $20? $25? Plus the cost of the frame. People can opt to buy them with or without the frame, and I will also sell little prints.

I'm signing them on the back, since there's so little room on the front. With a 2 x 3 frame, the "live area" is really only about 1.5 x 2.5, because the frame cuts into the space of the drawing. So I had to make sure these 'floated' within that safe zone.

I'm having fun thinking up ideas of other things to draw. If you have ideas, or would like to commission something, please let me know!

Update: These are now in the shop. Framed, and unframed as wee prints.
